Air Conditioner Gas Waste: A/C Valve Releases/Sprays Gas Out

Hi my fellow Cobalt enthusiasts.

I have Cobalt SS/SC and I'm experiencing issues with my air conditioner recently.

At random the A/C (safety) valve releases my A/C gas up front into the air. :thumbsdow:
Every time this happens I check my oil temp just to get an indication of how hot the engine is running and it shows around 180F which is quite normal if I'm not mistaken.

Have any of you experienced this issue?
What should I consider replacing to end this waste of A/C gas?
I filled my A/C 3 times already this year. :cussing:

Other than that, I have no issues...

Im guessing that you have a restriction in your A/C system, possibly a plugged oriface tube or a stuck Thermal expansion valve. Id hook it up to a gauge set and see what the pressures are.

Yeah, your a/c leak has nothing to do with your engine temps, so don't worry about that. Get the system checked by a pro, and you can decide from there if it's worth fixing. A diagnostic test shouldn't set you back too much.

Sound like your a/c clutch is not disengaging, because your high pressure switch is not working properly and the system is over pressurizing..
Get it checked out by a ac guy before you damage the compressor and the repair bill goes up.

OK Guys....thanks for all the feedback.

I'll let an experienced A/C guy look into it for me and diagnose !

THANKS!
