Clicks and bangs are no good at all but hard to say for sure what could be causing it without more information. Could be lack of oil somewhere inside the engine or something like exhaust pipes banging against the car body.

it does it while the cars off and in the run position. i thought mayb the heater blower could cause it but its coming from above the blower. any thoughts? it almost sounds like somethings trying to turn on but wont. anyways its definitly coming from inside the car near heater blower

It's entirely possible something got into your blower fan and is bouncing around in there. Do you know if your cabin air filter is in place? Could also be blower motor bearing going to **** I supposed. Really hard to say without a video or something. You're guess is probably better than ours because you can triangulate the sound with your ears.

My buddys blower motor in his truck would click when it was going out and something in the hvac duct would thump. Assuming it was the flap that choose direction. Did it every time he turned the key.

Take the blower motor out and see if something is in pieces.

your right haha i just watched a video of a guy with the same issue he stopped the banging with zipties. its a ghetto way to stop the noise but thats really my only issue with it is the noise, i need an inspection and don't want the mechanic thinking this guys really letting his car go to ****, the second he gets in it... heres the link for fixing it with zipties cuz whitetrash lol
if this is a bad idea please let me know id rather replace this then have to pend 500 dollars next year on a more expensive part cuz this destroyed something
