Broken window drama...
Well as many of you may know 13 days ago my window was broken on my Cobalt. Front drivers window. Someone broke into my car. That very day I went and called every autoglass repair place in the state and no one could get the glass for my car. I was told I had to order it from GM. So thats what I did.
Here starts GM horror story #6.
Well I ordered it 13 days ago and was told it would take 3-5 days for delivery. Never came in. Then I was told it would take 5-6 as it was on a slow truck from MN or something. Then I waited 7 days figuring it was a day late. Still nothing. I checked every day and they just kept changing the story.
Well today I called Pissed. I was like I have been without my car for 15 days because of the window, and I need this fixed NOW. I asked to speak to a sup there and He made a call to find out the original piece of glass was broke durring shipping in Toledo or something. They said they would order one from baltimore today and Have it overnighted so it would be here by 12:00 noon tomorrow. Heres to hoping they are right this time...
oh and I also found out htat the dealer charges 180 bucks to install it. They call safelite there to install it at the stealership. I callled Safelite and they quoted me 45 bucks for the same install just on their property instead of GM's. Wow, what a bunch of rip offs.

About three weeks ago I had my 2 door cobalt broken into as well... the day that I went in to get it fixed and auto body shop, they had it done in three hours. Cost me 250... but three hours is crazy.

For future reference, if you guys want I can give you a How To on glass installation for the doors....I work for Safelite, and have changed out four windows on Cobalts already...The process is easy, and should take less than an hour if you're novice, and only about 30 minutes if you've done it a couple of times. I gave a write up on removing the door panels earlier, but I couldn't get pics up with it, still trying to get a camera to do so...Just shoot me a pm if you want the process.
