Bumper Cover Replacement (2008 Cobalt)

Recently had a nice spill with the ice this winter. Ended up sliding my cobalt into a pile of bricks beside a mailbox... randomly placed for me to hit I assume. Didn't know where to post this so I'm putting it here.

The Damage: The front bumper cover is cracked where the under plastic grill is. The crack is about 6 inches long, but it's so thin it's unnoticeable from a distance of about 20 feet. However, the grill/cover popped out of the bumper cover and ended up being broken in several places.. completely useless now. The bumper also 'bowed' I believe when it popped the grill out and it's now cracked about 2 inches within the hole where the bumper cover grill was. So bondo'ing i believe is out of the question unless you guys know better.

Now I've seen bumper cover's out there for sale from $150-$250 which is great, cause that's not a big issue as far as money goes. However, I believe the bank breaker will be having it painted again. Because most of those bumpers come only primered. Anyone know the cost of getting a bumper cover painted factory white (yes GM has like 12 codes for white) and have they had a simular problem or solution? Also, is there a place to get the factory white 2008 cobalt sport bumper cover? The grills themselves, which pop right in, only run like $15.. so thats the least of my worries. Any feedback would be awesome.

just trying to help here;

you might want to go to your profile and fill out more information.

your current "location" is a smidge too vague for anyone to chime in even if they can help you out.

call up your local smaller car dealer, doesnt have to be chevy or GM, call them up and see if they have the number to a mobile painter they use. If they do, then get in touch with that guy. if your cars white itll come out fine, and itll be 1/3 of the price of a body shop.

if you're going to offer advise, you should at least read his first post - he's looking to buy, not sell.

@OP, in the case of a thread like this, if you do not want ot post your location (eg: city/town), then I'd suggest you at least meantion exactly where you are. There ar e enough people here, that odd's are a couple mebers are not too far from you - and who knows - one of them might be able to help you out.
