Exclamation Can someone help me?

Okay so my car is acting very strange. This morning when i turned my car on, it is kept in the garage by the way, my speedometer, my rpm gauge, and my gas gauge were all on zero, and the car was running! And the message center kept blinking from low fuel to power steering then to the outside temp and mileage. And when i started driving it the gauges would pop back into place where there supposed to go but randomly would go back to zero and pop back up. And the whole time the yellow theft/security light was on. And so when i got out of school and went out to my car it did the same thing.

My car did have the power steering recall and i did get it replaced a while back, but sometimes my steering did feel a little stiff like there was no power steering but then would go back to normal when this was all happening today

Does anyone know why it would do this? or how to fix it?

replace your battery and have your alternator checked.

Well my car starts up fine and everything, but that could still be the problem?

I wouldn't have suggested it if I didn't think that's your problem.

Your battery is likely fine. Same with the alternator.

I'd put my money on either an intermittent ignition switch problem or a module issue. Which module? No clue. I'd have to see the car to even get anywhere near an actual answer.

Odd problem though.

This problem is most likely caused by low or fluctuating voltage.

Since his car is an 06 and it's winter, I made the assumption that his older battery may need replacing. Since it continues to act strangely when running, the alternator could be sending uneven voltage, due to worn brushes... Which may have been caused by the battery starting to go bad.

oh there was a TSB on this or something similar! I remember because on the way to Time Attack in Joliet with Rallyracer (2007 SC/SS) his did it, on the way down to chicago. I forgot the issue exactly but google stuff and I bet you'll find the info I did.

Check the connectors on the pcm under the hood,
Also for a loose fuse in the fuse box.mainly the ip ign fuse.
Could also be a ignition problem, next time it happens try wiggling your keys to see if it
Does anything.

BCM I'm pretty sure. When mine went bad I had similar problems.

Mine did something like that with that power steering thing. My wife told me about it. She was driving and it said "power steering and the guages screwed up. It only happened once. Well, I guess it was the power steering issue because I havent had it replaced yet but it hasnt done it again.

im getting this issue intermittently as well. driving at times the security light would illuminate, then today i got the dreaded no start. no attempt either. lights dimmed and everything did what it was supposed to, but no start. touched the shifter for a moment then it started fine but my gauges fluttered and i got all kinds of warnings and alerts. shut it off, drove to the corner, transmission shifted VERY firm like the pressures were maxed out, shut it off at the corner, light went off then it started fine. everything was fine except the transmission pressures were still maxed or so it felt that way. after work, got in and it drove fine. only does it first thing in the morning for me. or at least thats the only time i notice it.

im leaning towards a connection or module issue as well....

2007 ls coupe, 58,000 miles. already had the power steering replaced in the past. just background on it. battery was also replaced when i lived in NC 3 years ago too.
