Car Shut Down
 

Earlier when I was heading home. I was on a 2 lane road and there was a guy driving like 55 in a 70 in front of me so I downshift into 3rd to go around him and I hit 6k rpm before shifting and all of a sudden my car just shuts down. So I pull over and my car wont start and my engine light was on. So I tried and tried for a couple of minutes to start it then it finally started back up. Anyone know what might of happened?

i think it has something to do with you redlining it (some safety crap). I did that once in my firebird back in the day. It was not cool especially when i was racing it.

i would say its a safety shut off but if u where at 6k thats not going to happen... the redline is higher than that so idk..... is the engine light on? go get the car checked for codes even if its not on( free most places and then u can get a finger in the right direction)

oh jesus lol....sometimes i would hit a nasty pothole and my car would just shut off also...i'll put her in nuetral and just turn the key and it would be good. glad i got a dodge now lol.
