Car shut off. Sounds way different now
So I was on the highway and I floored my car in second and hit rev limiter and it shut off. Ever since that the car is very quiet compared to what I Was before and the supercharger sounds way different. Any ideas? I can’t really tell a loss in power or anything |
Are you mechanically inclined? Pull the valve cover and see if you dropped a rocker. It's fairly common in these engines with rev limiter related mishaps, and will cause the car to sound choked or muffled.

While you have the valve cover off, it would be a good time to check that the timing chain guides are in tact, and replace your chain tensioner if it has never been done, depending on mileage.

If you lost a rocker arm, some might say it makes the car "rumble" or sound like a subaru. Is this the case?
