check your temp sensor wires

Hello,
While looking under my hood today, I noticed that the wires for my temp sensor for the engine coolant were rubbing on my fuel rail. The wires are protected by some plastic tubing and some tape. However its possible that on some vehicals it could have worn completly through and may be causeing some people to have --- F coolant temp readings...
Just something to check, maybe.

Mine did that actually, the temps would spike really high momentarily when it grounded. Little bit of rubber hose and a zip tie fixed the problem, never happened again.
