Gages wont light up ><

AH. The gages and the light that tells me what gear im in (I have an Auto) wont light up >< I checked the fuses and there ok. I don't know what to do. I found this problem out last night. I got in my car after a movie and they wont light up. I had to drive home with the dome on just to see how fast I was going. Has anyone had this problem? If so can you please tell me how to fix it.

There might be a problem with the sensor on the dash that switch the lights on automatically.

Hey buddy, it fit the mold and a lot of times the most simple solution is the correct one. Better off trying that first than tearing your dash apart and playing w/ wiring.

My issue is this:

Does your radio work?

As of now, we've established the gauge cluster doesn't light as well as your shifter console. Those should be two seperate fuses, but may both be on the dimmer switch. If the dimmer is turned up all the way, try turning it all the way down and back up. If that doesn't work, hmmm...

Do your map lights work on your rearview just like your dome light still works?

Also, have you done any electrical work on the vehicle lately? Stereo, Nitrous, gauge, anything that requires tapping into the fuse box?

Did you throw a CEL?

I'm assume the gauges still read correct RPM and Speed.

Let's get a few of these specifics out of the way and go from there...

Thanks for the help but I got the dealer to fix it for free; something was wrong with the wire to the dimer.
