Help: Replacing CV Axle

So I have been having a clicking noise while turning and have determined its was most likely my driver side CV axle. I started working on it today and almost ready to put the new axle in. When removing the old axle the inboard cv joint came apart leaving the inboard shaft still in the transmission. My question is how do I go about removing this?

Use a pickle fork is the easiest way. If you dont have one, ive used big pry bars or screw drivers before. It takes some coercing lol. Good luck. Try wiggling while you pry if you have to. Btw its a good idea to drain the fluid first or itll do it for you when you pull the axle haha.

Well I dont really have anything to pry against as the shaft is no longer in the cv joint. A pickle fork would probably do the job but I don't have one on hand. Any other ideas? Also I was under the impression that I wouldn't loose a lot of fluid when removing the axle. How much do you think will be loss? I just had the trans flushed about 20k miles ago. I was hoping to possibly just top it off a little

Im beginning to wonder if they didnt give me the wrong axle at advance auto parts. When looking the part up on auto zone it appears that this is the correct point where it is suppose to separate. The advance part has another shaft extending past the cv joint.

EDIT:
OPPS Looks like I got the manual trans axle instead of the automatic

It looks like you snapped the axle right there?

Thats gonna be a bitch to get out. Maybe a slide hammer and some vise grips? See if you can get something clamped on. Yeah youre gonna loose like at least half of the fluid. I tried leaving it in there too and it makes a huge ass mess. Good luck
