Hey everyone, I apologize if this has been asked previously but after doing a search I was unable to find my specific problem. I am experiencing issues with my HVAC fan speed control knob. About 6 months ago, the speed setting for "4" stopped working sometimes. Some days it would work, others it would not. Now it does not work at all. I have found that I can get it to work if I push the knob in and hold it. The second I let go though, it turns off again. The other three speeds work fine. I think I remember the knob getting stuck a while back and I had a hard time turning the knob off of "4", but when I got the knob free, it still worked fine for a bit. Does anyone know of a fix for this issue besides buying a new HVAC unit? I realize they aren't that expensive (used $40-$50), but if there is a way to take it apart and fix something, I would prefer to do that.

 

Just buy a new one.
They sell on here for like 30 all the time.

I figured that would be the best option for fixing this. I was just hoping that I could adjust something on the inside of it. I have to tear my IP apart anyway because I want to repaint the trim so I figured I might be able to kill two birds. I'll keep my eye out for one on here. Thanks again!
