HVAC problem... heat is on all the time
 

Well I notice that when my fan is set to OFF heat is still coming out of my vents. If I turn the vent control to the floor, heat comes from the floor. Also If I switch the temperature control to cold, cold air comes out. Anybody else have this problem? :(

Is it a hard stream of air or just a very slight flow? I notice when everything is turned off a very small amout of air still flows through but I also had this on my Cavalier so I assume it's normal. If you've got a substantial flow almost like the fan is on low then that would maybe be something you should get looked at :).

Same thing here, my 2001 F-150 also did this. So in the summer just make sure the dial is on blue/red in the winter and all will be good.

My understanding is the heat and cool take power from your Car when they are running? It would only make sense for it to be completely off when you choose off. I had a SE-R it still came out slightly, and it slightly comes out in my balt too.

Try pressing your recirculate air button while your driving without the blower fan on....
Does air come out then ? or is it reduced from before ? It should be.... You will probably also notice that as you are driving (without the recirc button pushed) the faster you go the harder (harder being relative) the air starts coming out of the vents... The car is drawing the air from the outisde... which means the blower box has an opening to the open air... even if the fan is turned off... Air can still push its way through the tubes in the box.. especially at higher speeds..

i usually put it on cool air if its hot
or on defrost when its foggggggged
