You can't let women sit in the back seat. When you drop the clutch it rains in that biatch.

I just had this same leak happen. This was the first time I have noticed it. I have had the car for 7 years, so I am not sure If i have never noticed it before or if it has just started. I was rear ended over 2 years ago and it was 10k in damage. So i figured it has something to do with this. Not sure though.

It seems the water is dripping from the driver's lower seat belt anchor bolt. How it is getting there in the first place, I am not sure. Hopefully, this can give us enough to go on.

My car leaks in the drivers front and rear foot well area. I found the rain would run down the drivers door, and go under the bottom lip, pool up on the door jam and eventually flow into the car. So the seal on the bottom of the door lets it in.

I found it doesn't happen if I park with drivers side lower. But if I park closer to level or passenger side low, water comes right in.

I haven't check this thread in a while! Popped my motor a couple weeks back so I've been a little occupied with that haha. I like the dry ice idea! 07cobaltLScoupe thanks for the thread. There's a few things I'm going to try. But need to get my wheels moving first haha. I will keep you guys posted though for others with this problem

Hoping to find the root cause

Bluelightning, I know this is a 3 year old post but any chance you can share what the issue ended up being? I have the exact same issue, your picture is worth 1000 words.

Thanks!

Hopefully simulating rain will help me figure this out. I just cant seem to find anyone else with this problem and it sucks.

I know this is an old post but if anyone has found the fix please let me know lol

Smoke machine. Tape off your vents (or put some garbage bags up to block the front) and see where the smoke is coming from.

I've done a ton of searching and can only find water leak problems with sunroof vents being plugged. My car has NO sunroof. I tore my entire interior out like a year ago and sat in the car while a friend pressure washed the car. No water leaked in ofcourse. I thought the door seal was probably leaking. So I stuffed shop towel in the bottom door seal which you can see in the pic and the towel is bone dry. The headliner is also bone dry so it doesn't look to be raining down that I can see. But the way the water accumulates it seems as if it is raining down. But here's what I've found out about this over time:

- The water only leaks in when it sits. Not when I drive
- The water comes from above the carpet. When it's wet and I lift up the carpet it's dry underneath.
- When it pours rain I get little to no water. When it rains lightly my back seat fills up like a pool.
- It is only wet in the one corner. Everywhere else like the drivers carpet is dry and dry underneath.

I am going to use a garden hose this weekend and simulate rain haha. But I'm at a total loss with this. If you can figure out my problem I'll pay pal you $5 lol.

This is after light rain all day today

Did you ever find where the leak was?
I have the same problem going on.

I would recommend a sprinkler, rather than a garden hose. That way you can simulate the 'rains lightly'

I hate when this happens on threads. The person fixed what was wrong and never updates on what the fix was. I'd make sure the sunroof drains are not clogged and then look into the rear window possibly leaking. Gonna sound weird but have you tried taking the back seat out and sitting in the back area with a flashlight while someone drives you through a touch less car wash?

It is what it is. But that's where I would start. And if the leak is not coming from the rear window, there is the xm radio antenna on the roof that does have a seal on it that might be allowing water to drip down onto the back seat

For anyone looking what the Op fix was. It was the passenger door seal. It would leak through the top edge and get behind the b pillar panel into the back seat. I’ve been having the same issue and was convinced it wa a the sunroof (it was contributing. Now fixed the drain leaking (zip tied down hard) and blower out the lines. Not as much water getting in now but still some. I’m gonna look into my door seal now.

Head liner and pillar covers all off so I know it’s not the sunroof anymore.
