Intermittent wiper problems
Having a wiper problem and wondering if anyone else has experienced it.
Driving along with the wipers on intermittent. Rain gets heavier so I turn the switch to low speed. Wipers continue at intermittent speed. Have to put them on high speed to be on all the time. And no, it's not that I have the stalk in the wrong spot because I was sitting in a parking lot doing this after coming outside and they went from intermittent to high only. |
Sounds like something the dealer needs to fix, sounds like the problem is in the switch.

I have a question. Are our wipers speed sensitive? It seems like if i have them on intermediate at a low setting and i increase my speed the wipers automatically speed up and vise versa when i slow down
|
Yes... the wipers are somewhat speed sensitive...
they will increase speed by one setting when you go 50MPH or over. Try it next time it rains... put the wipers on the fastest delay setting... then creep up to 50MPH and watch them switch to constant low setting. It's a really nice feature... you don't have to constantly switch them up and down when you stop at a light. |
My car does the same thing!!!
About a month ago my car started doing exactly what you described!!!:cussing: If you push the stalk up towards high without actually clicking over to high my low speed will usually start to work. I am gonna take mine to the dealer so they can install a new switch.......

are you sure that the "high intermintent" speed is the same as the "low" speed? This is what I thought was the case. Try going from "low intermintent" to "Low" and see if anything happens.

Same issue started around last month on my car, too.. Will be into the dealer shortly..

It goes - off, intermittent, low and high. |
Also remeber that the wipers have a built in function to shut off if the motor gets to hot. It's all in the manual.
