Went to start up my freshly built engine for the first time and I started spraying oil out. My L61 block doesn't have anything here so I didn't think anything of it. What goes in this location on the filter housing? I need to plug it.
I need to plug this but I don't know what normally goes here on an lsj block.

Nobody would happen to have the measurements (Inside diameter and outside diameter) for the O-ring in the photo below would they. Or alternatively know of a block off plate you can buy?
I figured out it is this oil cooler is what would go there.

Or does oil have to flow from one hole to another?

Oil flows from one to another. So contact Mr.B and see if he has a lsj oil cooler flange that has AN bungs so you can just run a loop. Or find an lsj oil cooler and connect it

the oil cooler goes over that hole. oil must flow between those 2 holes, however you can remove the tube inside the hole closest to the bellhousing and then install a blockoff plate.

look up "ecotec oil cooler delete"

Awesome thanks guys. How hard is the tube to get out?

Also, the oil cooler is just a heat exchanger right? So I can just bolt it up and leave the water hoses disconnected can't I?

yea you can. but at that point, you could change the thermostat housing as well and have the benefits of having an oil cooler

Oh I didn't realize it tied into the engine coolant. You know what other parts I would need?

Getting an oil cooler and all the lines from the t-stat housing up plus bolts from mongo.
