No Boost/ P0101/Limp Mode

Ok! Like the title says, i have a 2010 SS/TC w/ a CEL on as well as no boost an what feels like limp mode. Ive searched this an found many different remedies, from cracked end tanks/ intercooler to loose chargepipes to MAP sensors etc. I'm really trying to pin point the problem since I'm all outta warrenty. For a while I would only loose boost an go into a reduce power mode when it was cold out( 30-40s). I would turn the car off an on an everything would be back to normal, today was the first day the CEL came on w/ the P0101. Any thoughts??

Yeah? I'm gonna check my end tanks an intercooler tmmr so I can rule those out. I failed to mention I have a K&N SRI if that were to make any difference.

P0101 Mass Air Flow or Volume Problem, IAT,MAF, or MAP

Thats what my Chilton book gives me for that engine code.

im currently having the same problem with my 05 SS/SC bro, same codes and all. i replaced the throttle body and did proper reset procedures, didnt fix anything.. then i replaced the MAF and airfilter yesterday because it was running horribly, fixed the running issues but is STILL going into limp mode, not quite as easy as it was before, but still going in nonetheless.

now im seeing codes P0102 and p2138 which are the MAF and the TPS codes.. i called the dealership and they said it sounds like I may have a short in my PCM
could be the same problem for you?

please PM me if you solve yours so I can see if it'll fix me as well!

So here's an update. I took her to my usual dealer yesterday. I got a call the same day, the cause from what the tech sees is a very dirty air filter, it seems since it's the K&N cone filter, the oil is turning whatever dirt it captures into gunk which is messing with the MAF. They cleared the code & cel an since I picked it up everything has been running fine. It's raining currently but when it clears up tmmr I'm gonna clean up the cone an hope for the best.

We have always ran dry filters on our cars just because of that reason since day one. Even with k&n.. Glad you got it resolved, I have the same issue but I have a bunch of codes.. Ive replaced MAF sensor/barometric sensor on the top of the sc/airfilter/plugs.. and now I am getting knock senor to show, and it shows up twice stating low inputs..? and all the codes are still showing even after replacing all of that.. wonder if my computer is bad? for those of you who have had your throttle body go out what was the signs, and symptoms of the car? how did it drive? did theboost gauge go up when you floored it and then fall back down while your foot is still on the gas pedal? Help me out pls, sorry not to thread jack but this seems like the same topic..

Your good man! I'm about to clean my filter, should I apply the oil or leave it dry?

Any opinions?

leave it dry. Never put oil on any filter Atleast for our sensitive cobalts..

Just came back from autozone, picked up the recharge kit. It's all clean, not just drying. I think I might go ahead an put 1 very light coat of oil, seeing as it did come in the kit an the cone came with Oil applied when I picked up the K&N SRI system.

Hopefully after installation everything stays fixed.

No man don't put any oil on the filter... it will in time contaminate the MAF sensor, and your back to square one. Please don't put the oil on it.. All K&N filters come with oil but the reason we cant use the oil is because the MAF Sensor is right there in the tube and the oil is a straight shot to it... trust me don't do it.

Ok. Update, cleaned everything that needed to be cleaned. Everything running smooth up until this morning. Car turned on fine, everything was good till about 5 mins in my drive. No boost, car feels sluggish, accel. Is absolutely slow but mind y'all no CEL is on.This really only happens when is cold outside, currently about 30 degrees outside. Any ideas?

Althought yours sounds more of a vacuum leak then mine does.. just a thought.. why dont you check all those lines make sure they are on all the way, and none of them are dry, and cracked.. even a small pin hole you cant see with your eyes, will throw it off.. just a thought.

Just drove her 30 miles from work an everything was working as it should. Did one WOT pull an she felt great, I really have no clue as to what can be causing this sporadic behavior.

but just curious what ended up fixing both of your problems
did they actually need a new throttle body?
just trying to figure out how and why a throttle body would throw that code
