Oil leak coming from behind oil filter help!!

OK, I have a 2006 chevy cobalt 2.2 liter; So I know everyone on here says to replace the gasket on the oil filter cap. Let me start by saying I haven't done this the last three oil changes and the gasket on there now is orange, however I am dripping oil in the driveway; not much but enough to make me worry. I have looked under the car and it is coming down onto what looks like the starter solenoid, however when I look around the oil filter cap there appears to be no oil leaking from around the cap, so am I missing something here? Will the oil come out somewhere else if I don't replace this gasket? Please help!! Thanks Ashley

Can you see the gasket when looking at the cap? Or have you taken the cap off completely?

When I removed the oil cap for the filter I could see the orange gasket.

Check the oil filter cap when the car is hot running. The cap may have a small crack. And it may give u a better indicator of were it's leaking from

I had the same issue, buy another filter because whenever you remove it I'd replace it. Then change the gasket and reinstall. You don't have a damn supercharger in the way to make it difficult. Should this not work you might have cross threaded the cap and you'd need to buy a new one of those as well.
