Opinions on Extended Warranty

I have another couple days to decide whether or not to keep my GM Major Guard Extended Warranty. My car is an 08 SS/TC with the powertrain warranty good until June 2013 or 100,000 miles (currently at 34,000). I paid 1600 for the warranty. I am just unsure whether or not it is worth keeping and am looking for opinions.

The car currently has GMS1 and I do not plan on doing more than that for now (still working on the driver mod).

Thanks for any input.

Waste of money..you're prepaying for something you probably won't need, at least not $1600 worth. Don't forget you only start to recover that when you EXCEED the $1600. Meantime they got your $$ UP FRONT. Also keep in mind, any *major repairs* will be covered for another 2 years.

As far as warranty companies go... GMPP is by far the best. It does overlap powertrain some... however it covers ALOT of things that powertrain won't. All the way down to window regulators, keyless entry remotes and A/C parts.

Even things like the trunk struts.

If you're going to get an extended warranty... get GMPP. From what I've heard it also can be transferred with the car so its a selling point. You may want to confirm that last bit though.

Depends. I've seen a few blown engines. It would be nice having the warranty.
