i installed my new timing chain tensioner this weekend and when i did the chain jumped on me. not knowing at the time it did. when i installed everything i went for a drive and first of all the car idled horrible. when i drove my iat2's would jump up real high then go back down alot. so now i have my valve cover off and my engine at TDC. my question is where are the marks on the cam gears suppose to be?

I'm sorry what you mean by your chain jumped on you ? I replaced mine like 2 months ago with no problems, did you turn the car on before or while installing the tensioner ? and is it torqued well ?

well i dont know if the chain jumped. i had the valve cover off when i did the install and when i took out the old tensioner it just moved really quick, when it got lose. i have valve cover off again and i was looking at the pink chain link. is it suppose to be on either the line on the exh cam gear or the intake cam gear? also when i was turning my crank it was pretty easy to turn besides at certain times during the rotation it was alittle harder to turn then normal

i called the dealership and the price is alittle less the 200 dollars to fix the timing, if i didnt bent any valves. how would i know if i have bent a valve? would you hear it?

Look HERE for the installation instructions. It will have the timing marks and show how to line everything up.
