P0230
P0230
Changed thermostat, in order to get to last bolt on housing i pulled the fuse box. I've done this 20 times before and each time disconnected the battery first. This time i just wasn't thinking straight and pulled the fuse box before the battery.
Any way, now I've got the code P0230 (Fuel pump circuit) and i get it to turn over but not start.
Things ive done
I am tight on cash and cant afford to replace parts *****-nilly so any tests i can do to narrow down to what is wrong would be appreciated.
thanks in advanced

Things ive done
- checked the fuse
- swapped out the relay
- listened for fuel pump operation (from what i can tell it runs)

Update:
I have fuel at the gas line just before the injectors so i believe my fuel pump runs.
Car will now no longer give codes to code reader.
MIL is on but when i check for codes the code reader says "no codes stored in ECU"
The problem doesn't lie with hardware, as code reader works with fathers car.
btw im using the Torque app if that matters.

found out that i removed the ignition distributor housing to get to the thermostat. I have now re-removed the ignition distributor housing and am now trying to figure out how it goes back on. So, i think im one step closer to getting her started
I still dont know about the ECU... i think i may have cleared the code and now i need to run it so many miles to clear the code for good...? any input?
Update:
uninstalling and re-installing the ignition distribution housing has worked. It now starts and idles rough, but it does start.
I read somewhere that if i just drive it around the pcm reprograms itself to adapt and learn the new positioning/timing. Is this true? or do i have to take it to a shop to get it done?

After contacting the dealership they had told me that the car reprograms itself. After awhile the car threw a p0017 (crank position off). I pulled the sensor and adjusted the crank to top dead center (TDC) then set the sensor to the notch and re-installed. Runs like butter and no codes during test drive. i will get back to this thread if p0017 shows back up later in the week but as of now its all gold.
