Painted valve cover pain in oil

3 Attachment(s)
Hey guys as seen in the pics below I installed a painted valve cover in March of 2018 and the paint is chipping on the outside and inside. I'm not concerned with the external paint as it's cosmetic however I am concerned with the paint chipping on the inside.

What internal engine damage if any should I be concerned with knowing that chipped paint is potentially cycling through my engine in my oil?

Best case is it clogs your filter sooner. Worst case (and more likely) it clogs your pickup screen and/or small orifices and tubes. I would get that paint removed ASAP.

I found the flakes of paint in my pick up tube screen when that happened to me, but that wasnt the reason the engine went.

I agree that you should swap covers or take that one off and clean all the internal painted sections off.

Thanks for the feedback guys I'll remove the painted one and pop back on my original.
