stagnant water smell
 
it seems like now that when the temp raises outside and my car sits out when i get in it, it smells like moldy water or really bad if i have to turn the air or heat on. its discusting anyone got a fix?

Also, we do have a cabin filter located under the glove compartment you probably need to switch if you have had your car over a year.

Pull out the floor mats open the windows and doors and let the sun dry the carpet out.
Feel around on the floor for the dampness you could have a possible water leak.

i got the smell too dude, my dealer said he may have to clean my whole system out. funny thing is, damn car only have 5k on it... bullshit.

2 years ago i have a cobalt ls 2007 and everytime it rained it would smell like that when i first got on but it goes away.

just got a 2006 cobalt ss/sc and it does it in this car too..

i think its just a way they made the car. i have looked for leaks and done everything to find out what the hell it is but i just dont see anything

Check the weather seal in the trunk. In fact check all of the seals for leaks. My mom had this problem in an old Mustang of hers.
