Clunking?
Its not on my Cobalt, its on my Sunfire (my winter beater).
I'll admit, I don't know alot about suspension. I'll rebuild a motor, and wire **** all day, but suspension diagnosis, i get confused.
When I turn the steering wheel left or right I hear a loud clunking/popping sound from the passenger side. At a dead stop, or sometimes when moving slow.
Its not a ball joint, i ruled that out by trying to move the tire up/down/left/right with it jacked up.
Tie rod? Control arm bushing? CV joint? Any ideas?

Its annoying right?
CAB would be a easy fix, or end link.
I'll have to look a little closer tomorrow or sunday. I just hope I don't have to screw with the axle.

End links is much easier fix than CABs, CABs are a PITA because you need to unbolt all the crap to get the control arm out to the press to press the new CAB in. End links are only a pain when you don't have power tools to get the old bolt off and it starts spinning on you.

120k miles on a sunfire that has been through all 4 seasons...probably going to be a different story.

If it's got that many miles and has never had suspension components replaced, it's almost a guarantee that the CABs at the very least are shot. I've been through 3 sets on my cobalt in less than 100k miles
