Trunk latch won't open remotely, 12 volt power sockets also stopped working...

Hi guys,
There's no issue with the physical trunk latch, but when I hold the FOB button the trunk will not open, nor does it make a peep of noise, appears no signal is getting to the trunk latch.

Around the same time this stopped working my 12 volt power sockets also stopped working, first it was the one closest to the radio, then it was the one behind the shifter (which went out at the exact same time as the trunk stopped remotely opening).

Am I in for a world of hurt with electrical issues, or perhaps a small common issue?

Advice please, thank you!

check your fuses

At least the socket check fuses if not that socket could have gone bad

Parking lights fuse under the hood. Check that and report back.

Under the hood found the "Trunk" fuse was goners. Changing this resulted in the trunk working and the 12v port by the stick shift working again. Unfortunately the forward 12v doesn't work, but it must be another fuse in the inside panel for that one.

Thanks all, easily fixed so far, whew.

The other 12v plug runs off a separate fuse I think it's located on the BCM fuse panel

Well what the... After replacing the fuse yesterday (although I used a the spare fuse in the fuse box, it's 10+ years old) the trunk worked for the day, now this morning the trunk will not open again. Had to get into work, but I will inspect it now, but do fuses have a lifespan even if not used?

There is likely a short causing it to blow the fuse. Not fun but you'll need to trace a few wires to find out what is causing the issue.
