Been through all the how to valve cleaning threads and have it pretty well figured out. I just want someone who's actually cleaned them to help me out with it. Got a blaster, walnut shells and carb cleaner and the old man has a big stationary compressor. Don't tell me it's easy I know it is lol. If your down to help me out let me know, I'm in Kitchener. I'll hook you up with a case of beer or something

Don't bother with blasting. Get in there with some brass wire brushes. Far more effective.

Gonna disagree. I tried the brass wire brushes and the blasting goes way faster and gets the intake runners looking new.

I got mine looking spanking new with just picks, brushes, and cleaners, but that's only because I had no choice. Bought walnut shell for the blaster at the shop, took the car apart, started on a cylinder and the thing died halfway through. I'll agree blasting is the way to go though.

How the **** do you get in there with picks and wire brushes? You can barely see the valve if you look in lol. Also, the $100 blaster I got won't spray the fine walnut shells, lucky me

Sorry to bring up an old thread. Where did you guys get your walnut media from and what grit grade did you get?

I currently have an air tool for blasting with. I've used it for sand blasting in the past. Of course I'll clean it out meticulously first, but is this good for use with walnut media?

Don't remember what grit I bought, but the box said "fine". Didn't matter anyway for me, cause the damn blaster broke down.

And yes, I know this wasn't directed at me, just figured I'd chime in since I got it from Harbor Freight as well.

With that info the 24 grit says it's fine and the 12 grit is coarse. I guess the 24 grit should work. thanks

Yeah, thanks for the info. I'm planning on doing this next month. My wife is extremely allergic to walnut shells and she'll be on a business trip for a week so I can get this all done while she's away.

Yup fine 24 grit. Don't get coarse, fine was a little too coarse than I'd like but it works.

I haven't been on here in a while but this part along with a blaster/compressor and walnut shells made a hell of a difference. Was pretty sketched out about doing it but it's really easy and no mess. Just make sure the valves your working on are closed. There is always one open and 3 closed. Just put a socket on the crank in the passenger wheel well and you can feel when a valve opens as you turn the wrench.

It fixed my cold start stall issue and low idle. Also get a few nice pops here and there and the throttle response is a lot smoother

pretty simple honestly. I did it my ss, and we did it to Ecaulks SS.

hell I even did it on a Mazdaspeed3.

I was wondering if you it done, glad to hear it fixed some issues for you
