Wierd CAI intake problem?

I went to the strip today and when I got there I noticed that the SC didn't "scream" like it used to. I had the intake on for a week now and the SC scream seemed to quiet down a little. I noticed this on my last car which was a 2.2 Eco Z24 with an AEM CAI and after a few days the intake quieted down. After a bit of fiddling at the track I disconnected the battery for 10 mins and after I re-connected it the SC scream was back. I wonder if the PCM is adjusting to the intake somehow as I cannot explain how it got toned down and a reset made the whine come back. If you have a CAI in now for about a week or longer do you notice this too?

I've been running the hell out of my car, no CEL yet.

How have you been doing as far as codes being thrown with the Fujita?

The code still comes on (P171) but it takes longer now, I drove for over 2 hours and no CEL yet. I bought an Innova OBD2 scanner today on sale so I just clear the codes. At the strip today I reset the PCM by unplugging the NEG and through 10 passes and 2 1/2 drive home it hasn't some back on yet, so we'll see.
