brembo pins are stuck help me!!!
my pins will not come out :'( do u guys think i need new calipers? er should i try cutting grinding then drilling the pins out :/
Well by the end you will need new pins, have you tried using a punch?
Mine were pretty bad. Ended up starting to damage a caliper so I pulled it off and brought it to a machine shop. They charged me a half hour.
so im thinkin about getting a little torch n trying again but b4 that i read that if i poor boiling water on them that i may b able to get them out? idk im thinking about trying that b4 using a torch on em :/
I had to cut mine off with a dremel.
Had that issue before. Used a propane torch to heat them up a little then used a tap to remove. Needed new pins after this and don't forget to grease them throughout the year.
I think you will get them out one way or another...if not PM if interested in my spare TC calipers.

well i took the caliper off cut the pins w/ a sawzall n the front ones came out easily w just a vicegrip holding them n a hammer but the backs i had to heat up pretty good n beat the shit outta them til they came out :P i actually bent the one pin but then i was able to get vicegrip on it to get it turnin so i sprayed it w pb blaster while turning it cut it n then it came out. the inner pad was seized to the caliper and they were brembo pads so idk if theyve ever been changed lol
Well already you got everything off now lol
I cut the pins on both sides and removed the pads to release the tension on the pins. Then I pounded them out with a punch. You got it figured out tho.

So, I won. I spent 3 hours on 2 calipers, pulled without removing the caliper and any damage.
but of course there was a magic devicehttps://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cob...da95a41059.jpghttps://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cob...1d77941424.jpg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cob...2403873f0c.jpg https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cob...28e6436511.jpg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cob...8334439e6d.jpg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cob...fb65b9af48.jpg |
Nice. Mine mushroomed and needed to be drilled out.
I put anti seize on my new ones and take them out annually. |
