it said it was a block of clay that costs 20 pounds which is about $39. Also it looked like it possibly came in a set of 2. It was step 7 which removed microscopic dirt particles.

Claybar is where it is at. I haven't claybar'd my cobalt yet because I haven't had a whole day to dedicate to my cars paint. Although I'll admit that I have spent about 5 hours before!

That guy is awesome.

It says the wax can be refilled for life at no cost. IMO that makes the price not as crazy as i first thought, especially when charging 10 grand a detail

Are you talking about Classic Appreciation? I used to work there as a detailer about 10 years ago. While I was there they didn't wash the car 5 times. It was wash once, then cleaner wax on the lower 1/2 and anywhere there's pine pitch or stuck-on-goop, then another washing, then dry the exterior, then exterior wax. The entire cleaning process, that is if you buy the top of the line package is supremely **** retentive and they DO get the cars as clean as insanely possible. The manager at the Rochester shop let a guy go that missed a few things that would have been missed/overlooked by the average driver.

Nope, never heard of that place and I grew up in Rochester. This place I am referring to I will only say is located in Wixom/Novi Area.

I call BS on $10k

It isn't a problem when actually washing and rinsing and the car in the sunlight as long as you are constantly applying water when there are still suds on the vehicle. I detail vehicles all the time in the sun, you just have to be extra careful and incredibly patient. And the right equipment helps too.
