I use to use the absorber but i now use the black magic equivalent. In my opinion its just a little thicker and can absorb more water and they are both about the same in price.

Sorry guys, absorber for the HUGE loss. If you are going to use anything, a waffle weave towel or air (leafblower) is the only way to go. Regardless of how clean you think your paint is, the Absorber and the water blade are prone to pushing the dirt around, marring your paint.

I love the absorber and also, they make a mini absorber for about 7 bucks....I use that one for the rims and what not...they're a bit harder to come by than the regular sized ones though

I'll never use a water blade again

the water blade can ONLY be used if you physically washed the paint....

IE no "touchless" stuff.....no using the washwand soap, then rinse and water wax, you have to get dirty and actually clean your paint with a microfiber mit and elbow grease to get all the contaminants and fine particles off the vehicle.
Ive been using one for ages, and I have never once seen it put a mark anywhere.

and if an absorber and blade "push around dirt" on a properly cleaned car....then so will any other method you choose.

leaf blower?
you might as well sandblast your paint.

Well, people have used leaf blowers or other variations of pressurized air many times and it's been safe. It all depends on where you're using it and how well you washed your car. I don't personally use this method, but I consider it better than using a waterblade or an absorber.

I guess it works for cheap. I'd rather spend a little more and get a real drying towel. I wouldn't use anything else on a customer's car.

Leaf blowers.. once you try it.. you'll wonder why you havnt before..

unfortuantely there are alot of us living in apartment land that currenly cannot get electricity to the car and the apt complex bans all car washing on its premesis. (bastards)

So in that case.. i am stuck with the absorber.. it works ok.. but people are always looking at me strange when im blowing on my car to get the water out of the cracks.

Im about the pickiest person when it comes to the detail of the camaro.. so making sure the absorber is in pristine condition is imperitive! any dirt gets on it, it gets washed before reuse.. Besides.. i only have to wash the camaro about once a year so its not a big deal.. 2k miles a year helps..

^^W3rd. I used to open and shut all doors but it still doesn't get all the water out. A leaf blower sounds like an excellent idea.

Wow, and I thought I never drove my car. I've had my car since March 06 and I just hit 5K miles. The first 1K miles were put on it in the first week or so.

To all the guys using a leaf blower or thinking about it if you have access to an air compressor and a blow gun it works very well also. I have used one for about 8 months and love how it can get the water out of the small spcaes like lights lenses, window seals, the meshed inserts on the rear lip of the SS/SC, and my favorite use the lug holes on the wheels. No more water marks on the wheels when you move the car and water drips out

Yea, the thing is...you're never going to be able to avoid all of the microscopic particles landing on your paint. The minute you start washing it, new stuff is already falling all over it...I noticed spring/pollen season is the WORSE...lol

I've been doing it for a long time now (I used to be against it because of the factors such as road grime...etc..etc.) but the trip I take is about 1/10th of a mile so I'm not too concerned
