I have a 06 ss/sc and i was wondering if i could take it to a automatic car wash and the spoiler be fine. I was told that it would most likely get ripped off. help cause i dont have time to wash it

ha, itll be fine. ive taken my through quite a few touchless car washes and that spoiler is fine.

try the brushless...pluss it wont F your paint up..... o0or you could take the extra time and effort to wash it your self and make it look nice

Take it to the dealer, when i do not have anytime to wash mine they do it there for free and i just tip the porter!

Be sure to use a touchless, but other then that the car will be fine.

you should do it by hand but if you can not. take it to a touchless car wash other wise your paint will be in some need of buffing and paint work. also you could use the sparyer and the brush type car wash. just make sure you rinse that brush out good before putting it on your car. but that still can mess up paint. bad thing with touchless car washes is that the high pressure water can drive the dirt into your paint witch is not good eather

I do touchless and the soft cloth washes and with the soft cloth washes it comes out BEAUTIFUL!

watch out for the soft clotch they are the ones that can really mess up your paint. just think the person that went in before you could of had some peice of **** they just god done mudbogging in. it left all that mud in there and rocks that will be rubbing agginst your paint. it wont turn out good

I understand that but this "auto spa" place hand washes the extremely dirty ones and only allows slightly dirty ones to enter the soft cloth wash.

id just bring it to one of those hand car washes...i just feel safer doing it that way....

and its not that cold when your in the garage doing it you got the hot water mist spraying all around

During the winter what I always do is just use the high pressure wand to rinse/and apply soap. Then I always use something soft to dry it off with. I have never taken a car that I care for through an automatic car wash. Just so many chances for things to go wrong.

I always take mine through a touchless carwash during the winter or when I just feel lazy...I've never had any problems aside from it not cleaning up to my standards sometimes.

i have taken mine to countless touch/non touch washes but only to places that i know takes care of their ****. for a while I was only going to hand detail places but 25 bucks every two weeks got too expensive

once it warms up a tad, mr clean auto dry ftmfw

I get mine wash everytime by hand but, the wing should be okay.

i used to detail cars for a living.. had a mobile truck and trailor.. did 100,000 + dollar ferrari's and amg mercedes..do it by hand.. if you cant make sure its brushless ad the water pressure isnt to high.. ive seen jets take off paint.. you wont have to worry about the wing biring ripped off jus getting scratched..

I agree with thedubsack, I also detail exotics for a side job (just look at the pics I posted in the pics section for proof) and I cannot stress enough about how damaging both touchless and traditional automated car washes are to your clear-coat and even paint sometimes. The problem with touchless washes is they use such high pressure jets that it literally digs microscopic particles into your clearcoat creating micro-marring. Now, granted high pressure jetting is okay IF you have taken the proper procedures before hand to alleviate most dirt particles...but even then I personally only stick to high power washing on wheels, exhaust, and fenderwells.

Most say they don't cover aftermarket parts....those are stock parts so if something happened, they would be reliable. Plus if you take it to one of the better ones (not the ones at gas stations, like the ones you actually have people dry off your car) they should tell you if they think it may be a problem.

If I am not able to do it my self buy hand I will go to a car wash that does hand washing when I am on the road. When doing it my self I try to get all the dirt with the power washer I have first before rubbing the paint with a soft clothe. I for one just can't force my self to take it to "soft cloth" car wash even though I have friends that use nothing else and looks great. I just don't want to be the one that goes in after that big muddy truck.

I use that Mr Clean auto-dry system & it is the **** No more wipping the car off. Our carwash here does not have the brushes. However i have used the soft wash before & no Damage.

I bought one of those for me dad, he didn't say much about it. I went home one weekend and used it, I hated it. Opted to take the Mr Clean nozzle off of it and use the straight up hose.

if you've got the time and the patience, there's nothing more rewarding than handwashing and hand waxing your car, because you can see it go from dirty to gorgeous in the length of an afternoon.

i only handwash my cars, mainly because i'm too cheap for the auto carwashes!
