Detailer's Domain: Audi Q5 New Car Prep

This was a brand new Audi Q5 - of course black - less than 50 miles.

When I get calls for new car preps....I usually cringe.

12 hours later......

What was done -

- Tires were spritzed down with Adam's All Purpose Cleaner and washed down
- Wheel wells were cleaned up
- Wash down and rinsed
- Door jambs were cleaned up
- Clayed
- Dried
- Tires dressed
- Masking
- 2 Step Polish
- Inspection with Fenix, 3m Sun Gun, Infratech, and natural sunlight
- Last Step - Menzerna Power Lock
- Rubber and Plastics Treated
- Exterior windows and mirrors cleaned and sealed
- Exhaust tips cleaned
- Windows were clayed and sealed

Impressive. I've found that the paint on the 2011 Audis is a bit of a pain. I think they've switched to water-based paint like the body shops have, so it seems to mark and marr much more easily. At my work we have a client with a 2011 Audi S4 and after 3000km there were already permanent bug gut marks on the hood. I actually buffed it the other day. Nice cars, and they're rather easy to buff/polish.

At any rate, that one came out nice. Well done.
