good buffer?

so i have always used a crappy buffer or mostly hand buffing which gets old i want a decent buffer but dont want to spend alot of money on one at the same time.

what is a good but cheaper one to get also i know hardly nothing about one. i know the different in the pads but how exactly are they used?
just simply apply the pad on the buffer and apply the paste of your choice ?

im sure the buffer i get will have some sort of directions but looking to see whats good.

i know the porter cable is one of the highly recommended but alil to much for me right now.

porter cable would be nice. but at the same time i want something less expensive to work with for awhile. just the normal swirl remover, pre wax, sealant, wax

but with the different pads do you just put them on and apply the paste to the pad is all .... iv seen crappier types of buffers use cloth to put over there pads?

To have the ability to remove scratches and apply polishes, the price range of the PC is at the low end of the buffer/polisher market. There isn't anything in the 50-100 range that gets th job done,You can buy a PC for 125 if you shop around.Don't waste yur money on anything less,And a non dual action polisher will burn your paint easily.I'm sorry it isn't the answer yo wanted but the cheapie WAl Mart type polishers you see fr 35 bucks won't cut it.

yes i have used one of those and it was pointless but i was wondering if there was anything good between those and the pc is all. i may end up getting one of those but in all honesty is the pc worth it. how does it compare to being applied by hand?

and like i asked before with the pads. is it as simple as putting the pad on and the paste and your set...there is no cloth on the pad like the crappy ones right?

You need the ability to apply swirl removers/polishes at about 4000 to 5500 RPM.The new Meguires paint correction kit requires 4800 rpms. For the most part yes you apply which ever product you need to the pad and work it in.Terry cloth covers that go over the bonnet of the cheapies swirl your paint.

Yes The Porter Cable (PC) is the well worth it. It is the most used tool in my garage when detaailin a car.You won't get swirls out by hand.I use mine to apply wax with red pads at a lower rpm and swirl remover with orange pads at about 5-5500 rpms.Doing it by hand won't do it.

ok but on the pc those type of pads dont require a cloth cover correct? im sure once i look hard enough ill find it on that site but its nice to get first hand info on things. im a buffer noob but i did no the pc was one of the better ones out there.

whats the best steps of applying paste?

i usually wash it/clay bar atleast 2 or 3 times a year/wash again/dry/compounding sometimes but not much for me./swirl remover/prewax/sealant/wax

Yep you only need the pads no covers. To keep the swirlies away starts with the wash.here's what I do,I know others have their own process. But this is what I do on my black Miata
Wash car using Wolfgang car shampoo and my DO DO Juice Wookie fist wash mitt.
Dry car using Waaffle weave drying towels.
I don't clay bar unless I feel the debris build up on my paint. If you have a good wax on it you won't need to claybar much at all.
I then see if there are any swirls I need to correct,if so I use an orange pad with Pinnacle swirl remover. After that,I apply Menzerna Nano polish with a white pad.I remove all poishes/waxes with Cobra microfiber, yes quality microfiber makes a difference. Then I apply Wolfgang Paint sealant(it's kind of a wax). After that I apply Autoglym wax by hand and finish off with Griot's garage Speed shine quick detailer. After that is all done you only need to wash your car and use the quick detailer for months before doing the long process over again.

no once every 3-6 months depending on quality of producte you use. This **** adds up and gets stupid expensive.just wash and quick detail whenever you wash your car like normal.Checking PM's now I have to leave for work soon. The point of the PC is that it won't hurt your paint

also i found the pc at sears for like 115 id like to get a carrying bag for it and the supplies but its like 50 bucks lol

Are you bumping this because you think someone magically invented what you are looking for, for 50 dollars? You need to spring the money for a PC,there isn't anything cheaper that works as well, and is idiot proof.
