theres a ton of people that apply it right after a sealent and to be quite honest with you who knows if it really matters. i personally dont really use waxes unless i do like a quick detail and they dont want to pay for the sealent prep. you dont really get the depth with sealents as you do with wax.

not real good pics at all but this was just a 2step polish and sealent and the sealent lasted 3.5 months before i stripped it off due to my girlfriends mom hitting the car and not wanting problems when i went to paint the quarter panel.

oh btw cell phone pics too.

that looks good. i need to buy a buffer for my car. ill probably get the porter cable. i have no idea what i should do as far as products and the order to use them in, or what pads to use. someone help me out? like a just want a simple, relatively quick job.

what would get rid of swirls and scratches, and what wax should i be using?

here is how i might do it

wash the car
clay bar the car
wash the car again
apply whatever cutting compound
polish
wax

is that right?

sorry for the thread jack heath

i considering polishing one step...this includes swirl removers and all that stuff. i call it all polishing so i appologize for that.

cutting/compunding/swirl removing are what you want to do with a first step
polishing
glazing or doing a third step polish with a lighter polish
then a wax or sealent or both(whatever you choose)

yes i could but everyone likes different things. you really need to understand this. not everyone likes what i use and others love it. its all about what works for you, your work area, your budget etc etc etc......whats your budget like?

Autogeek has the PC plus the 105 and 205 with some pads in a kit.I think that's a great buy.But like Mad son said I love my Menzerna Nano polish, and i actually broke down and got a Flex. Now I'm stylin'lol. Some of you novice buffer users should try the Meguires DA Microfiber paint correction system,it's a 2step,costs 90 bucks and does a 100% better job than whatever you were using before you bought a PC.

Or like Mad son said, if you have the money skip the Porter Cable and get the Flex.It really is worth the 320 monies it is.

cant really say im a fan of that system yet. maybe it will change later on.

ill break down and buy a flex when the porter cable takes a crap....my dewalts on its way out but i dont think ill pick up the flex rotary. they say maximum 8" pads. i use 9" wool pads and 8" foam pads at work usually. use the smaller stuff for detailing only

i could but realistically you need to remember. everyone has their own technique, everyone has their own rhythm, everyone has their own product preference and as you go and learn and learn more theres a lot of things you do that others might not.

detailing is all based off of your own personal stuff. you do what you like, you use the products you like and quite frankily dont give a **** about what anyone says. different products work different for different people and the conditions they are in. if people want it they can pm me and ill give it to them i have it saved on the computer. thats my budget detail guide lol.
