Self-healing Clearcoat
ok, shoot me down if im totally nuts, but i remember soem company like lexus or hyundai coming out with a clearcoat that "self heals". apparently, if the car sits out in the hot sun, the clearcoat softens, and things like swirl marks and tiny cosmetic scratches will dissapear.
has anyone else heard about this, and is it on the market for just normal joe blow? |

ok, so it was nissan then?

Somehow I would guess that making a polymer that is elastic enough to mold out the swirls would be more prone to developing swirls in the first place. But who knows.
If I could have a car that removed swirls on its own, my car wash time would go from hours to minutes :) |
Im sure it would be a $500 option or something if it ever came to the mass market...
Sweet idea tho |
