Some pics after a detailing

Yesterday I washed, clay bar'ed, and applied a coat of Menzerna Jescar Power Lock sealant. I used to use Klasse on my vehicles, but the Menzerna is way easier to apply. 303 Aerospace Protectant on the tires and the various black plastic bits. It would be nice if it could just repel dirt from now on.

Wow that looks clean. Have any before pics?

ECaulk 09-10-2016 11:55 AM

Nice job, I'm assuming you've polished it or had someone polish it from the pictures

Solaris99 09-10-2016 12:23 PM

I really don't have any before pics because it never gets that dirty. It's always one wash away from looking pretty close to this. Not bad for 72k miles. The most aggressive I had gotten in the past was using a cleaner wax with a Porter Cable orbital polisher on a hard pad. The previous 5 or so details have just been clay bar and sealant by hand. This last application of sealant was with the orbital polisher on a soft pad.

Looks really clean man, I wish weather would be nice for me to wash my car or for me to have a garage to keep the car clean

Solaris99 09-10-2016 01:52 PM

This car rarely sits outside for more than 2-3 hours/week and I put an average 200 miles/week on, mostly interstate. The car shines even after it has been driven in the rain and dried. So I don't wash it too often. I do wash the wheels every other week. I hate brake dust.

Snail_SS 09-10-2016 02:08 PM

Mine is the Dd again due to my dd having a window regulator crap on me haha

Solaris99 09-10-2016 02:43 PM

This is my daily driver. The interior is like new, too. I'm anal about car cleanliness.

Snail_SS 09-10-2016 03:15 PM

I've let her go a bit in the last few months I need to cleab her but with so much rain it's hard

07MetallicSC 09-10-2016 04:05 PM

never really sees snow i assume being from NC but man that is clean. i need to try sealant on my truck. next year maybe

Solaris99 09-10-2016 04:32 PM

I'm in the Charlotte area and it rarely snows here. The sun is the enemy here. Parked outside, my truck needs the protection more and I drive that maybe 20-30 miles/week most of the time.

I love the lines on these cars. The only thing I want different about mine is a duck tail rear spoiler. Nobody makes that for these cars, though.

Beautiful car don't normally like red but looks super clean in pictures

07MetallicSC 09-10-2016 09:10 PM

have you seen the rksport 3 piece wing? or the tjin trunk? either one of those the style you are going after?

Solaris99 09-10-2016 09:48 PM

The Tjin is close to what I want. I'd rather the spoiler not extend past the trunk lid width. Looking at it again, the wider spoiler doesn't take anything away from the looks. I may consider this.

ECaulk 09-10-2016 10:52 PM

Nice and clean for not giving it a serious polish. Can you send me a link about the sealant you used?

63 Nova SS 09-11-2016 10:26 AM

Looks really nice. Like the wheels too

mzspd 09-11-2016 04:32 PM

Car looks really good!
Powerlock is amazing stuff, so easy to apply and I usually get about 6-8 months of protection on my dd (parked outside). The Cobalt gets the really good stuff (gtechniq Exo) but its in the garage.

Check out menzerna for their polishes as well, I use them for my detailing side business.

07MetallicSC 09-11-2016 09:48 PM

so with these products its best to apply with machine and remove by hand correct?

Solaris99 09-12-2016 08:31 AM

For the sealant I used, yes, it's recommended to be applied with an orbital and then removed by hand.

JapEatr 09-12-2016 12:59 PM

looks good, my pig is filthy

I want the duck tail spoiler too. I'm sure it can be fabricated
