you could order some from Autobarn.com thats where i usually order my stuff when i cant find it in the store. I also use a buffer to.....seems to help with the swirl marks

Factory paint? There's so much orange peel on our cars anyway. If you polish and buff the clear coat the swirls will go away.

I love the meguires swirl remover 2.0. I don't know if amazon ships to Canada but try amazon.com and do a search for meguire's swirl remover 2.0

swirls come from the tiny dirt particles that are still on your car afte you wash. they are stuck on the hood. you can see them on an aplicator pad after applying a new coat of wax. best way to help rid yourself of the problem is to claybar the car and then use a cleaner/scratch remover wax and then polish and then wax.

Microfiber only!

Did this about 6 months ago:

Here are some before and after pics on my dad's jeep. I did a half-n-half sort of thing practicing getting swirl marks out. I will still need to make a few more passes to get rid of the more stubborn swirl marks since my polish is a little weak, but you can still see a pretty big difference:

Before:

After:

Combo:

PC 7474 orbital buffer
Edge 2000 yellow cutting pad
Meguiars #4 heavy cut cleaner
Meguiars #2 fine swirl remover

That was only one pass...two passes later the swirls were gone. :)

wow very nice job getting them swirls out.

djcasper_bpm 02-05-2007 04:48 PM

you can sprinkle a little bit of baking soda on the wax just before you use a buffer and that helps git rid of swirls... i've done that to every car i have owned. never a problem with clear coats, it sounds crazy to do that, but it works...

Cobalt_SSTuner 02-05-2007 04:56 PM

^^that sounds crazy

I can understand that. It's a mild abrasive when mixed with polish...same thing with specific swirl remover waxes

stotte20 02-05-2007 04:59 PM

wow i might have to try that.

CobaltKids 02-05-2007 06:14 PM

Baking soda eh? Sounds kinda crazy but I might try that.

Eagle one Nanowax FTW!

I turned the hood of my car into a black oily pit, Couldn't even see the texture of the metal underneath.

mike25 02-05-2007 09:38 PM

what is this "swril" you speak of?.....could it be the newly dicovered kryptonite to car paint?

grigs 02-23-2007 10:48 AM

Another cool thing about Baking soda is you can add it to your wash bucket to negate/dilute the effects of acid rain on your clearcoat. :)
