wetsanding polished 18's

i have the 18" polished rims for the ss/sc and was wondering would wet sanding them get rid of the scratches and swirls they are notorious for? or would anything else work better or be safer to do? compounding?

if you do this i would try buffing them first (mag polish).. then if you have to use nothing under 1000... start with 2000 or 1500 grit..

id test this on something with a similar surface to see how it responds before you go messing up a nice rim

just paint them black, thats what im gonna do

yeah or you could clean up the inside of them. part thats always covered in brake dust. and test on that part.

anyone know if the polished wheels are clear coated???

if they are then mag polish is just going to eat thru the clear coat and then you get to deal with oxidation and shit....

if they are cleared then just simple compounding should work....
