white ss love hate relationship

alirght i have an 09 white ss and i love the color white but hate how is shows every piece of dirt and road grime. Im looking for tips to make cleaning easier and also was wondering if not washed for a bit of time will the white paint stain? Ive been also having trouble with little bits of metal/ particles landing on mainly rear of car and making little bits of rust, such a pain to scrub off. What cleaners are safe and do a good job? Is claybar need? Any help/ input is much appreciated.

I have random black dots on my paint in the rear that wont wash off.. i assume a clay bar will remove this. I plan on doing this soon anyways.

Those dots are rail dust from transport. It is imbedded in the paint and a clay bar will not take it off! It requires wet sanding and the dealer told me that you have an X amount of time from when you pick up the car to get it taken care of for no charge.

clay bar will remove some of these... you'll need to buff it out to get it all.

But as a friend told me once.... Detailing a white car is like farting in the shower... Only YOU know what you have done!

I have those too, those and rusted specs. My guess is ferrous material from the brakes.

No, I've had no luck with clay on them.

This is 100% true, if you havent had your car long you need to take it back to the dealership asap. Alot of new cars get rail dust but white shows it bad.

Thats just not true . A >>good<< mild to aggressive proffessional clay bar will take rail dust right off . Your typical commercial clays like u buy at autozone , may not ...but their virtually worthless anyways . I worked for Audi for many years , you'd die at the crap that had to be removed from some of those cars that came from overseas .

The light tan tiny spots you will continue to get , and all cars do ...white just shows the color better . Its mainly from brake dusting mixed in with all the other tar and road debris that is thrown on the rear bumper and sides of the car .

Get a good proffessional clay bar like a meguires "mild" blue bar , u will be amazed . Be wary of the aggressive ones though , like their red bar , it will haze the paint like a compound and will need to be buffed back out to a perfect finish .

haha i know what you mean, the black looks the best for the 5 minutes right after you wash it when the paint is so smooth and clean that it looks like black glass.

then the wind blows some **** around and your car is gray again. lol.

ive only had two cars in my life. i had a black explorer and i told myself i would never get a black car again. then i saw a black cobalt on the lot and just melted into it. lol.

damn you black!
