Do it! There is about 3 or 4 other balts that I know of that will be there as well. It will be a good time. I'm going to get there around 5 as soon as they open and get a **** ton of runs in.
*WARNING TO ANYONE RACING THEIR NEW 'BALT AT LVD WHO COMES FROM UPSTATE NY AREA*
I just got back from the dealer for some minor warranty work, and I was talking to the Service Rep about warranties, after market parts, etc.
He related to me this story (I'm just including the important stuff, but he had given me the details):
A short while back, someone came in with a fairly new SC complaining of problems with his clutch.
As he was explaining his issue to the Service Rep, one of the dealer's mechanics walked in and said to the person "Heh, I recently saw you at Lebanon Valley Dragway racing your car".
Guy responded "Uhhh, Ummm, well ....". The warranty work for his clutch was immediately voided, and the kid had to pay in full to have it fixed.
This mechanic frequents the Valley, so you'll never know when he's there.
One thing for sure, I know I won't be there ...

That Stinks. I wonder who it was. I guess I will camo out my SS/SC so they wont recognize it. LOL. I highly doubt they will recoznize all the cobalts that are there. I would just say I did not bring my car there and they would have to have some proof that I was there anyway.
OK.. unless there is picture evidence of your license plates and you in the car and what not then they can't void any type of warranty. Period. That's just like saying you saw the service manager ******* your wife and he should give you a free car because of it. No proof. And even if the tech claims he saw it, which is B.S. to begin with, just take it to another friggin dealer if they are going to be douchebags about it. This isn't rocket science here. That's just like them saying your injen intake is the cause of your rear shock blowing prematurely. They better prove damn well that the intake caused the failure, otherwise I would not leave that dealership until my car was fixed. There is laws on this, the only problem is the average joe is too stupid to get technical with them and instead they just bend over and accept it from the dealer. I don't know about you guys, but I for one do not tolerate any of that ****.
Anyway, looks like there is going to be a pretty good turnout. Let's just hope the weather stays nice.

Wow, Lebanon Valley! I raced there some 15 years ago...beautiful country.
I have to pop the BS flag on this one, lol...I'm sure you heard this story, but I doubt it's real. If it is, the poor sap who got denied really got took.
Fact is, there is nothing in the warranty language that says you cannot run your car from a standing stop to the top speed it can achieve in 1320 feet. That is within the reasonable usage of the car. Now, actual competition use, that's different, but Test and Tune? Not a chance. Don't believe it, guys and gals...and stand firm if a dealer tries to strongarm you.

First off, no pic whatsoever is necessary. Think about it. In a Court of Law, eyewitness testimony is accepted if the witness is deemed worthy of belief. And in this case, it obviously was.
Second, if you take it to another dealer, two problems arise. #1) The dealer isn't stupid. He may call around and put the warning out (after all, they've got your Name, Plate #, VIN #, etc. #2) Trying to get an extremely costly repair fixed at a dealer that you've never been to before raises many Red flags.
Third, comparing a CAI to blown shock is not what we're talking about here. What we're talking about here is being witnessed drag racing and then attempting to have a failed part in that car repaired under warranty. A part which easily can be understood as one that is overly stressed under the rigors of drag racing. That's what we're talking about.
Fourth, if you try to go to Court and present the case of a clutch in a new car that's shot, and the defendants ("the dealer") claims to have an eyewitness that you were racing, then you are going to lose. Remember all that paperwork that has to be signed/dated before racing? Those documents will become the proverbial nail in your case's coffin.
I understand that you're irate at dealers in general because of the damage that was done to your vehicle while it was waiting to be serviced there.
But don't let you emotions cloud your thinking ...
If you break your car at the track and bring it in for warranty work, isn't that similar to fraud? Ex, you launch your car and snap an axle. I'd pay out of pocket for something like that because it technically is the operator's fault, not the manufacturer. I was talking about other things not related to racing the car. Even so, the dealer should not void the warranty because they claim they have saw you at the track. Total b.s.
Haha... sure. Whatever you say. You know me so well.
And those numbers still suck.
And they are just that, useless numbers. But posting up your dyno numbers could get your warranty voided... you might wanna take them down.

Racing of any type (Test/Tune is still racing, that much is obvious) is completely prohibited by the Manufacturers Warranty for ANY car.
Anyone who knows anything about vehilces is aware of that ...
