$600us from crate engine depot $1000-1200 from a canadian gm dealer. order it from c.e.d. and have your local dealer install it usually takes about 1.5-2hrs of labor to install.

be careful though cause GM is tracking it now. Most dealers wont do the flash for you anymore. Ask them first

maybe just a canadian thing...My friend worked for Chevy and was going to install and flash my car for free but he says he can't do it anymore. I wonder if anyone can verify this?

you're probably confusing things a bit;
I'd wager a guess that the reflash HAS TO be legit, and not an after hours/under the table deal...

I for one have heard no such thing.

I ordered my kit from CED, and with ordering it, you need to submit your vin - presumably so they can have the correct reflash ready for your car...

If you are looking to retain the warranty; ask White Lighting on SD.ca about where he got his GMS1 from. He's local to Saskatoon, so he can point you in the right direction.
If you don't care about the warranty; check the thread I posted up in the LNF section of SD for the cheaper option.

When my buddy did mine they didn't even ask for a repair order number he just gave my VIN and the kit code and it was good to go.

I'm the parts manager here.
19212670 upgrade kit
kit retails for 1155.50
sell for $ 799.99

We have not installed on yet.
labor rate at $ 85.00
if all you need is the reprogram it should be 1/2 to 45 min.
gm charges the dealer $ 50.00 for tech line so that is also passed on to the customer.
let me know.

that's the best price I've seen for the kit in Canada - I tried to work in the kit with my car when I purchased it, and iirc, the dealer was only willing to go to something like $950... no thanks!

WOW!!!

would you venture a guess as to how much your service department would charge to do the install & reflash?
(I don't know if GM has actually established a "book rate" for the install part of this job)

gm don't have a set rate
theres no info from gm on how long to take
we charge $ 85.00 hr
gm does charge $ 50.00 for the download from tech service fee.

the most i can see would be $ 210.00 for labor and fee.

ordered mine from crate engine depot as I refuse to buy parts in canada as its always cheaper even with shipping from USA, I built diffs for my TJ and literally with lockers axles and full install kits and shipping I paid less than the lowest price locally for just one locker! got mine installed in innisfail at Palliser, Grant and the guys did an awesome job I was there first and it was flat rate $200 the car runs great the install is clean and looks factory unless you see the updated emissions sticker you would never know the GMS1 was in the car oh unless u get into boost before 3rd gear and blow the tires off the car!!

Paid $500 canadian for the GMS1 kit delivered to my door took all of 3 days shipping well worth dealing with crate engine depot and even got the free t shirt from gm tuner source with the pic of the LNF on the back!!

I never even looked when I ordered it opened the box of parts to ensure everything was there and pulled it out wondering why the hell I got a box of t shirts instead of my parts lol then after seeing the parts where all underneath was pretty happy with the free shirt to boot!!

ha-ha!!

IIRC when ordering you HAD to specify a t-shirt size...

if it's a large and you don't want it I could slide you a couple bucks for it

Its actually an XL and it was a complete bonus to my order I seen it on the site but guess was too excited to find the parts on sale to bother looking at the details! I just placed the order and they added it, not really to keen on selling it though lol I added it to all my Cobalt paperwork if I can somehow manage to not drive this one into the dirt like the rest of my cars I think one day it might actually be worth something seeing as its sorta rare and I have it all documented.
