One of these days, people are going to be all like "Nuh uh! No way! You need at least a 10 satellite fix with WAAS/RAIM for it to be true." lol

i did the calculations and without drag and wind factor, with rev limiter raised to 7000 rpm bolt ons and hp tune, car should rev out at 180 mph. going 80 mph at 3k rpm and 85 at 3200 thats 5 mph for every 200 rpm. from 3k rpm that leaves 4k left. 4000/200=20, 20x5= 100 more mph are capable after 80 mph in 5th gear. sorry for this gaggle f*** of info lol

Not saying it isn't better than the speedometer, it's not 100% though.

Whatever the case may be for people who say have taken their gms1 LNF to subsonic supercar speeds, the fact of the matter still remains. The tune itself is in fact limited to 155mph. How anyone is going faster than that is beyond me, but apparently it is being done somehow.

For those chiming in about Trifecta and HPT, we are all very aware that with HPTuners and Trifecta the limiter can be raised to basically whatever you desire, but that unfortunately doesn't change the gms1 limiter beyond what it is set to.

They're not on gms1. People lie to sound cool on the internet. It's like the people who say they get 35mpg .

Yeap, car was fully bolted(intercooler, all charge piping, full exhaust), 93 octane hp tuned, and it was slightly downhill at the time.

In my TC I have hit the stock limited 155mph limit a few times back when I was an idiot. But I have heard of people tuned hitting 158-162mph. The car just doesn't have the aerodynamics to go any faster, it has the power, it's just not made to go that fast

when i bought my car from the dealer it already had the gms1 but im wondering if the previous owner had it tuned. My car holds 21-22 psi and will roast 2nd from a roll. It actually feels as fast as my vette untill about 180ish. maybe a mild tune and I don't know?

wait wait.... I going to assume you mean 180kph seeing as how you're in Canada correct?

The 155 limit we're talking about is in mph, so hitting 180kph (111mph'ish) is easily done even in a stock balt.

ya ive had it up to 262km/h, or so I thought as per garmin gps but apparently I'm a liar. and yes i was talking about 180km/h. After that my Cobalt slows a little and my vette doesn't give up till 260 but will slowly climb to about 285-290(wasn't concentrating on the speedo at the time just the road)

yes you are a liar if the car is only gms1. the ******* limiter is 155mph, electronically limited, as in if it hits that speed it will not go faster than 155mph. what is so hard to understand about that for real. it is ELECTRONICALLY GOVERNED @ 155mph. it doesn't care if it's downhill, uphill, sideways, or in outer space it's going to cut off @ 155MPH. WHAT A HARD CONCEPT.

I'm sorry guy but there's just no way you went 180mph on gms1. It's one thing to argue going 160mph with a 155mph limiter particularly when the speedo is known to be a little off on these cars, but it's just flat out retarded to state that you went 180mph.

well this is my whole point. I might have a after market tune. How would i know other than my indicated maybe wrong speeds? theres no sticker on my ecu. Like i said i have no problem roasting 2nd with 235 nitto 555s. I hold 21-22 psi to redline, spike maybe 23-24. Anything else that would help? Im not kidding so either my speedo/gps was a few mph off or something is up with my car. I t would also be nice if I could figure out if I have a tune.

I just mainly need to know 1 thing....

Where the hell did you find enough road and nut sack to even get to 180mph in your car? (assuming I really believe you even got the car up to that speed on the stock turbo alone)..
