ZZP cams for turbo LSJ...whats your opinion?
what are ppl's experiences with ZZps turbo cams? I just went turbo...Garrett gt3076r on 20 lbs boost for now. I just came over from a TVS setup with ZZps stage 2 blower cams and still have these cams in. The turbo is big and the stage 2 blower cams dont open the motor up til about 4k rpm which doesn't help either. Your thoughts and experiences are welcome!!!
put the stock cams back in and talk to zzp about it i dont think that there will be much of a difference when the cams start making power but there could be a difference in how they make
I want either their Stage 2 or 3 turbo cams. May just do Stage 2 since I drive around town and wont be going past 7000 too much. I want to see what the difference in spool time is too!
With or Without the cams @ 3500 with the 30R? Also did you have a .63 exhaust housing?
Also the equal length usually will increase spool RPM. Larger runners and longer length pipe decreases velocity vs. a log style.

I would recommend the stg. II cams. Good idle, good power band. I would recommend the reverse split but thats just me. I run the stg. III cams and have ran the stg. II cams. Both have been reverse split. Also, to achieve the maximum gain I would recommend cam gears.
As far as the turbo manifold is concerned, you will achieve quicker spool with a log style manifold. Keeping the turbo as close to the exhaust source as possible will net you the quickest spool. Harnessing all the heat possible is going to greatly increase spool. Once the turbine is up to speed it is easy to maintain, it's just getting it there that's the hard part with larger turbo's
I agree there is some tune-ability in a equal length manifold but for most peoples over all goal and reliability they work best. I still run a log manifold on my car, FWIW.

Ryan on your car, how did it react to the reverse split stg3's vs stg2?
I can't make up my mind selecting cams. A couple places have mentioned reverse split, but everywhere I look, people say that reverse split is intended for applications where the exhaust proportionally outflows the intake (in the head)
As far as I've ever heard, and seen, the lsj head is the exact opposite. One of the reasons gm only ported the exh side...
Anyway, know you don't get on here much, but thought I'd ask. Was gonna just email but figured others would like the information too.
