Short throw shifter question

So I got ano 05 Ion for christmas in he attempt to get me out of the house to either get a job or go back to school.....I know I know. Spoiled as hell and I can't thank the gift givers enough without sounding like a pansy.

So the car came with a short throw shifter. I found it on eBay and the model is a Manzo Ion Redline/Cobalt SS Supercharged.

I got the console all tore to heck and went over to my grandfather's to use his good dremel to cut away the needed clearance in the shift assembly housing. But when I started taking the stock shifter apart. I realized. The knob that goes to the white shift linkage coupler is the same size as the hole it needs to go into.

Now the gift giver, is a very good and knowledgeable tinkerer and body mechanic so I asked him to see if I could just get the part that the knob connects into and wham bam, it would slap together and work easy peasy

Now I also wanted to ask on here because when I had my cobalt you guys were the go to spot to check out for how to's and the best people to ask questions to. So here I am. Pick your brains away!

The circled bit is what i need but in a bigger size. Figure one from an SS or redline will do the job. What do you think?
