Should all be done by Sunday. Supposed to have three straight nice days of weather then. Cant do much today since its cloudy and sprinkling off and on. Even though Im doing it in the garage, the door will be open and I just dont want to chance any moisture getting into my plasti dip.
Good enough for now. Thinking about peeling it and trying again at my dad's where I will have more room to work. And won't have neighbors complaining about the smell. I didnt bother painting the hood, fenders or front bumper for that reason. Thats just the black primer they came in.
Im done for now. Kind of didnt come out how I wanted but being my first attempt at plasti dip I figured I can get better. Ive found some spots that didnt get enough coverage so it needs to be done again. Which is why I didnt bother painting the spoiler and putting it on as Im thinking of trying a matte yellow next. Stay tuned though. Definitely not done here.
Did some updating. Plastidip yellow today. Bought some gloss black powder coated SS/SC wheels and put new rubber on them, Bridgestone Potenzas. Waiting for a shipment of parts as well. New rotors, calipers, pads, brake lines, KYB suspension with ZZP lowering springs, all new timkin wheel hubs for each corner. Maybe some other stuff Im forgetting. Should ride like new. Got to fine tune and touch up the plastidip over the weekend. Still need to paint the high rise.
Labor of love. Once all the suspension bits, brakes and wheel hubs are installed going to take about a year to save and do a E85 TVS build with all the bells and whistles. Ported head, new short block all cooling mods.
How well does plastidip hold up like on the front bumper with bugs and rocks hitting it? I've always been curious but haven't been around it or even seen a dipped car in person. Also, how do you like the Potenza tires? I have the RE-71R tires and am very impressed with them.

Potenzas are awesome. Hold really well even on the stock suspension I can through the car around corners with no sequel. Plastidip is really strong actually if you do it right. Prep the car correctly and get enough layers down, you shouldnt have any issues.
Bit of a snag on my headlights, was shipped a wrong one from ZZP so I can't put them in yet. Ordered standard LED and they shipped me one LED and one CCFL.
I've never really liked yellow cars but this matte finish or there's just something different about it that makes it really pop. Does it tend to get dirty easier? Seems like it would be hard to keep in this state.

Yellow definitely looks better with black accents imo. Not sure yet how dirty it will get but I will find out soon.
What's it costing you for enough Plastidip to do the whole car? Buying buy the Gal. I assume?
Ya, $55 a gallon from dipyourcar.com. Two gallons of white then two gallons of yellow. Honestly would have gotten a third can of yellow if I had to do it again. It just seemed to go on much quicker than the white.
