My SS w/(G85) will be built...

Just got off the phone with chevy and they told me that my Fully Loaded SS (yes with G85) will be built.

She gave me my order number and said that within the next week it should begin being built and that she will have an ETA for me.

She also confirmed this with her boss and my dealer. My order number is ( JDDBV5 ) if anyone here knows how to check on that I know there were a few who could.

I'm just happy to hear all this stuff about the G85 isnt totally true. I'm guessing what it meant was if you order a car with G85 now you wont get it, I ordered mine about a month ago.

Well hopefully that solved some debate

I def will but don't get it confused ... you cant order it now... but if you already did order it and your dealer has the available allocation you can get it.

Yeah that and they are just oversold right now... most people dont realize that you cant order a car 30 days before production ends and get it.

That's great news for you man, I don't know why my dealership said that I could not get it for an '05. He said more than likely you could for an '06, you would just have to wait longer. I wanted an '05 model, so I dropped the g85... I'm sure in time I could have gotten the g85, but it wouldn't have been an '05.

rally yellow

Talked to my dealership today. They told me my order just got pushed up a week and will now be built sometime next week instead of the first week in June and that I will be driving it come this time next month, no if and's or buts. No g85 package though as I am a Canadian order so. Hope everyone else gets their cars soon, summer will be here shortly. Well, for some of us, up here in Ontario, warm weather hasn't really hit yet, still in the single digits for highs this week

It might as well be ******* November right now

My SS gets built on June 6. I asked my dealer about holds and he said the district manager said there should be no reason that it won't be delivered on time. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

When did you order this car? My order was April 12/05 and was preferenced about 3 weeks ago.

Did you get your car yet?

Damn it.

Congradulations on your G85 SS/SC! I spoke with my dealer again, and he said that the G85 package is STILL on administrative hold. Two GM Representatives have told him two different things, one says that the car is still on restrictive hold, and the other says that they don't know if they can't still order me one because we didn't make the final buildout. I have no clue what's going on here, but apparently no one is on the same page. I hope it gets resolved and I end up with an 05 G85 SS/SC. (Hell, this is getting so rare, I think I just might make a platinum "G85" badge to put on my Cobalt... lol.)

Chevy and my dealer said it had to do with allocations... The dealer I ordered form is pretty big and they only had 2 SS's before I ordered mine. SO they knew they would eb able to get another one. Mayeb your dealership has no allocation for the car.

price on mine (or was mine) is invoice + $49 ..... and I still didn't know if it would qualify for the free sunroof and XM... the dealer should know now since they have an invoice for it. Calced it at one time to be around 22k

Thanks for your investigation into this entire issue. I'm probably going to be yelling at my dealer and then revoking my order from them. I expressed allocation concerns when I ordered the car. They assured me it would be no problem. Last I spoke with them, they told me it was because G85 was on hold. That's there excuse. If I have to wait for a 2006 now.. i have time to find another dealer and I can probably get a better price on top of that.

I just hope GM gets their act together for 2006 and my current car makes it until then(Z24 with 130,000 miles.. busted gas gauge and odometer). I have no AC and it's getting hot outside and my car is black! I'm not going to fix it either because my car is only worth $1000 and the compressor won't even turn on so I know that's going to be costly.
