2.2 motors with egr ?
ive heard twice so far that some of the 2.2 eco's have a egr valve mounted to the exhaust manifold
can you guys check and see if you have 1 , and post back with the year and 8th digit of your VIN # , it is the engine code
also i would like to know what the engine code is with out egr also

No EGR's on any cobalts. There was a casting provision in the Ecotec heads prior to 2005 that allowed EGR to be mounted, but none where ever actually used on any Ecotecs that I am aware of.

Exhaust Gas Recirculation was an older form of emission control. It is similar to a catalytic converter in that it sent unburned gas back through the engine.

its not that technically advanced
and the original egr used on the 2.2 eco was cast into the head , and was used on the first versions on the saturns
none of the cavalier/sunfires used it
and gm changed the head casting , and dropped the V that was on the end of the head
and i guess for the newer emissions standards for certain models they musta brought it back
the brief info i got today was a 06 cobalt 2.2 that had the egr , and im not sure if the other was a cobalt or ion , or the year
and for those of you wanting headers this is a must know , and for the company i work for to make our header listing correct , and see if its possible to offer a header for those that have the egr

I don't belive there is anything other than the 02 sensor that plugs into the header. Unless I didnt hook something up but the only CEL I get is catalyst efficency for bank 1 below threshold for operating conditions p0420

You're all speaking of AIR systems. California emissions most likely.
The EGR system has been eliminated and the exhaust cam cut to perform the same function. See other thread above.
