Long cranking after fill up.

I have an 08 2.0 turbo. I had a CEL on for leak in the purge system and had my canister replaced with the solenoid and new filter. Around this time, after filling up with fuel I have to crank for 15 or 20 seconds to start. Every other time it fires up right away. Any suggestions?

I had that issue after tuning, replaced the Evap solenoid and it was fine. If you can blow air both ways through it she's toast

It seems the simplest fix is the one I should have done. I had rusted fuel lines replaced so I had the shop replace the canister and solenoid on it while they were working on it. I will replace the one under the hood myself and try that.

Thanks for the help guys.

I replaced the evap solenoid on the engine and it is fine now. I should have done that first but I was having my fuel lines replaced at a shop and I thought that the canister and solenoid on it would be the problem and had them replace it. I thought the simple fix would be too easy to be the problem. Lol

People tend to over think things or assume the worst.

I've heard if you have a dealer do it it's close to $1,000. Or if they are only bad in the 1 spot behind the drivers door some just splice in flexible fi hose.

I bought fuel lines from Rock Auto but the mechanic said they wouldn't fit and he spliced in lines. Mine was bad where it goes up over the exhaust under the aluminum foil heat shield.

mine are rusted out in probably the same spot. I spliced in some rubber fuel line as a temp fix so I could move the car .seems to be a common place for moisture to accumulate and cause rust on the lines.
