Today’s Work: Complete Suspension Replacement

I’m armed with a little sack of mj, a Haynes and a 50lb air compressor. I have the tools and the knowledge, let’s see how it goes.

I love the lowered look of my car, but I do hate the scrape, and plan on going snowboarding in Vermont 5-6x this winter, so stock ride height it is. OEM replacement parts for today, Moog springs, I have full strut ass’ly for both side and OEM shocks for the rear.

I’ve got about a half inch of wheel gap Front/1” gap in rear, so I’m turning the SS into a monster truck I know. I will miss the look a lot. Function over form for this mod. Also, check out my wheels I just repainted, as when the wheels are off they are getting wheel wells cleaned and some shiny new red lug nuts.

Pics to follow, I’m excited to see how shot the current susp is!

Started with the front, needed nothing, broke no bolts, smooth sailing, 2.5 hours total both sides.

Now on the rear shocks, too bolts came out like it was 2005, bottom bolts had to use the grinding wheel.

I miss the more lowered look that my sportlines gave me over the yyz’s, but I will never go back because the car handles and rides way better. Front is about the same but the back is way taller.

Wheels look good though I think it would look better if you masked off or painted the Chevy bow-tie a different color.

Thank you! I was considering doing that, i have been scared to take the bowtie plasti dip off with a razor, so i may mask for a red bowtie. Good suggestion!
