the steering on my 09 ss has been getting stiff lately like not returning to center when turning but only seems to be stiff while driving it behaves normally when not moving but get stiffer as speed increases i'm thinking maybe the EPS is acting up and i'm not sure if it had the recall work done, has anyone else had an issue like this?

Check for play in the steering rack. I started getting difficult steering when my rack began to fail.

If it behaves normally when not moving and gets stiffer while driving I would definitely say it is your EPS like you guessed as it is designed to modulate the amount of steering assist according to speed.

Mine has randomly stopped working a few times. Been fine for a long time now.

Mine started squeaking, so I hit that **** with WD-40. No more problems.

Probably, but the silicon stuff should last. I mean, it's been like... 6-7 months now since I had any issues. I did the same to my sunroof and has been bueno.

Yeah but the silicon is just WD branded silicon not actual WD-40. I thought you meant regular old WD-40

Ah no, my bad. Regular oil WD-40 is great for small engines and hinges and ****, but you're correct that it should not be used on cars for these types of scenarios

Could also be that the shaft from the column to the rack is going bad also. There is an updated design for it as the factory shaft is prone to failure.
