New cooling mods: Vented hood and trans cooler
Trying to tackle a few cooling mods before taking Luci back to the track now that she has her new LDK heart.
Figured I'd post in this section as only the road racing crowd would benefit from these mods.
Started on cutting into my hood this weekend to install some functional heat extraction vents. I'm also going to be putting in a transmission cooler. I'll post up my progress in the thread.
My original plan was to use a CF hood for this but the expense of an unexpected engine replacement and build pushed that to the right. So I figured why not use my OEM hood as practice
Used automotive primer to protect the bear metal cutting surfaces from rust.

Should I have left it and painted it red?
My ETCs actually went down a noticeable amount, but that could have been a number of factors. I just know the general delta from before and after, but didn't ever do a direct with and without comparison since that wasn't why I removed it.

People do it all the time, but you will hear endless arguments for both sides with no real proof. Try it out and gather your own conclusions. You can also pull the rubber seal off the cowl to open up a gap without having to space the hood.
You already know, on both accounts
